I'm grateful to be able to report that the original performing members of WildCard! are in agreement and that we have begun work on reforming!  Better correct that to re-forming!  (we plan on keeping all our bad habits)

I've spoken to Steve Heglar (guitarist/lead and harmony vocalist) and gone over his songs that he wants to do (those that he sang lead vocal - we have three strong lead vocalists with different styles and we will try to distribute vocal duties evenly).

Will be speaking with Julio Mendoza (drums/lead and harmony vocalist) after Christmas and will go over Julio's tunes of choice.

In constant contact with Gene Long (bass/harmony vocals/booking, etc.) so he gets updated often (like today over lunch in Kannapolis).

Caught a cold that's making its rounds, but will try to get to work on our web presence today!  Once that is up, I will start posting updates there, rather than here (but with a link).

NOTE: My brother Marvin, a fine drummer/vocalist, passed July 19, 2002, at the age of 49.  His 59th birthday would have been today.  Here's a link to a video presentation from his memorial service from over 10 years ago;  from our perspective, the ones remaining here on Earth, we all wish you a happy birthday, bro', whereever you are (as long as we live and breathe, so does your memory ;)

Ho, ho, ho!  (ahchoo!) ;)

I've recently been working on a single act (keyboards and vocal).

Below is a link to my page on ReverbNation.com

(Ed's recent 'single act' clips - click on "more" for full list of 15)

These are some of my first 'solo' recordings (clips) of some of the songs in my repertoire.

These first tunes were more or less "grabbed" out of the air, not being truly representative of the whole repertoire, so stay tuned until I can put up more songs (newer, etc.) that reflect more accurately the style and breadth of my offering.  These were recorded with a USB mic in front of one of the PA speakers and is the actual live sound of a performance.  I use a Casio keyboard for the drum sequences (done live), play lefthand bass on the Casio, play right hand keyboard parts on a Roland 76-key midi controller connected to a Kurzweil MicroPiano module (with grand piano/strings/organ/Wurlitzer/Fender Rhodes sounds).  I'm having my Korg synth repaired and that will be added soon.

Of course, I am singing while playing keyboards, and the only vocal effect is a little reverb on the PA mixer/amp (ElectroVoice 8 channel stereo power).

...two of the songs that I've uploaded to my ReverbNation.com page are from my originals collection, "You & Me & The Sand & The Sea" (an older "beach music" song that I wrote in the late 1990s) and "Truth Of A Child", a spiritual message song that I wrote in 2006-7.  "Truth" was sung by a fine female vocalist, http://LauraClapp.com , as I am only playing piano on that one.

Other original songs are not posted, as they are currently planned for release by national artists in 2012, or have not been "assigned".  Once they are released, those will be available through various website outlets.

RELATED NEWS!

WILDCARD!
I also am meeting with former members of
WildCard! December 15, 2011, a NC musical group of which I was an original member.  We'll be discussing musical direction, etc. and it seems, to me, highly possible that we will be re-forming and playing beginning 2012, in the Salisbury/Charlotte area!

Will post results of that meeting post-haste. ;)

"My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable

superior spirit, which reveals itself in the slight details that
we are able to perceive w

- Albert Einstein -

The fairest thing we can experience is the mysterious.
It is the fundamental  emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science.

He who knows it not and can no longer wonder, no longer feel
amazement, is as good as dead, a snuffed-out candle.

It was the experience of mystery, even  if
mixed with fear, that engendered religion.

A knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate,
of the manifestations of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty,
which are only accessible to our reason in their most elementary forms -
 it is this knowledge and this emotion that constitute the truly religious attitude;

in this sense, and in this alone, I am a deeply religious man.
(from his book "The World As I See It" by Albert Einstein 1949)
